Wedding FAQ

Do you travel?
Of course! If your wedding is within a 2 hour drive of Bangor, Maine, there’s no additional charge. If you’re taking me further away, I’ll need you to cover the cost of a hotel close to your reception venue (because I will be much too tired from your festivities to make the trip home). Please inquire for destination events.

Can we negotiate pricing?
I hate to be blunt but… Nope. Each wedding I photograph requires about 40 hours of work, plus the expenses involved. Additionally, I try SO HARD to ensure all my clients are well taken care of before, during, and after their wedding days. Therefore, I limit the number of weddings I photograph each year and my rates are set accordingly. Please don’t ask me to lower my pricing; it just makes both of us feel awkward!

What if you get eaten by a bear the night before our wedding?
That would suck. If you have chosen to add a second shooter into your package, that person will take charge and photograph your wedding day in my absence. If the plan was to have just me shooting, rest assured in knowing that I have strong connections with many other Maine photographers; in the event of an emergency, I would put out a call to my network to find someone just as magical to photograph your wedding!

How many images will we get?
To be honest, I have no idea how many images you will receive! All weddings are different. If you have a lot of guests and wedding party members feeling feisty, you’ll probably have a very large gallery. If your event is more casual/laid back, the gallery will be smaller. On average, you can expect roughly 75 images per hour of coverage time.

How far in advance should we book you?
For spring, summer, and fall weddings my calendar books up about 1.5 years in advance. Winter dates are much more flexible. Email me and we will coordinate.

How can we book you?
Easy! Contact me and let me know you want me to be your wedding photographer. A retainer is due upon signing to lock your date in my calendar. Everything can be done right online in a matter of minutes (however, I’d never say no to grabbing coffee with you!).



Portrait FAQ

How does this work?
You message me and let me know what session type you’re interested in, how many people will be present, the general location and some preferred dates (weeknights only, please). Then, we go back and forth a few times to plan out your session with location/wardrobe/any other things you need help with!

Why won’t you photograph portraits on the weekends? I work during the week!
I photograph weddings year-round. So, in the rare event that I have a Saturday/Sunday open, I’m going to spend it at the lake with my family & dog :) Portrait sessions always take place in the evening (about 2 hours before sunset for the most flattering light), and in the summer that’s plenty of time for you to get home from work and freshen everyone up!

How far in advance should we book you?
If there’s a date you know will work well for everyone, claim it as soon as possible. I can sometimes fit in last-minute sessions, but generally my portrait calendar is booked out by about 3 weeks or longer.

What if it rains?
We can either get crafty with umbrellas or we can reschedule. You will not lose your retainer if we need to reschedule due to the weather.
